Fresh Coat of Paint and my 500.
If you haven’t noticed we have a fresh coat of paint over here. Woohoot. Chris one of our resident designer gurus has christened JOAB with one of the best looking designs I have ever seen on the web today. Yesterday we touched a little on stolen designs. This one is worth stealing just so you know. It’s gorgeous. Simply fucking amazing. There was a blogger who was stealing designs, and while I think thats horrible. Stealing content is worse. I’ve been investigating deeply some massive content theft, that even involves a host acting like its innocent, or ignorant. Im not sure which. I will post more on this later. I’d like to make an update on the Theme Contest. 500 dollars is a lot of money. You don’t have much time. Anyone who’s started working on this needs to understand that this isn’t about making my site pretty. I have a team of great designers. And could easily hire others. Its about sharing great design with others. See with over 400 trillion blogs, I mean people on the planet. You need to dress sharp if you are going to separate yourself from the next blog. I have a vision of a better blogosphere. One where content and design is A+ and everyone has the desire to express themselves freely without reason to steal content or design.
Pretty, but almost too much. Lots of graphics, which can make it hard to concentrate on the content, especially in the comments section

noticed this this morning – nice work. The red comments are pretty full on – but it’s definately bold…which is kind of like youu so I guess it works

I like it – especially the clean sidebar.
Even though you have a “Home” button why not have your main logo/header linkable as well back to the home page.

Holy-fucking-sidebar batman, whatappen? Man, that is quite the makeover, totally in my face. That sidebar is super clean dude, nice. These comment bubbles are a bit yikes but otherwise it is pretty coolsome!
Martin spoke truth, that header image needs to be clickable as does the ‘comment’ graphic under posts (yeah I know the number is, I’m a pedantic fuckup).

I like it, although the footer is way to big. Big icon blobs and speech bubbles rock!
