The 500 Dollar Wordpress Theme
Everyone knows I’m a publicity whore. It’s not joke. Im looking to do it again. I’m looking to do two things. To find another decent designer who does shit the way I like it. And I want to give away 500 dollars. I thought about putting up an ad on Craigslist. Nah, I’ve churned through enough dumb ads and only gotten shit for results.
This competition is open to anyone! You can live in Budapest, Africa, or even Mars. I dont give a rats ass. But you have to be able to blog. And if its ugly I’m damn well gonna tell you. Im also an impatient fuck. So I’m not going to give you months to get this shit done.
You’ve got until my Birthday! February 19th 12:00AM March 19th to make a badass Wordpress Theme. It has to be GPL. It has to be all zipped up nicely in ZIP format.
The theme better look badass on all modern browsers, across platforms. Minimum requirements: Firefox, Fuck Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari (Mac).
Winners will be announced on March 1st,2006
Themes must be sent to liberalcowboy at gmail dot com
You can only submit one theme.
Each submission must come with the author name , creation design name and contact details
I’m the only judge. I’m biased. But it’s money. Good luck.

And if you do a good job you just might get a job with us at ProBlogging.com, No guarantees. You can even lose and be considered for design work.

Whatever it takes to get more sweet themes out there. Thanks for contributing to that…although you’ll get more than your fair share of payback in terms of site visits – you’re probably making the prize from the frenzy it’s generating already. Well, I don’t see the harm of it really – if you want to get into theme building this is as good a way as any. Although a copyright clarification would be nice – do you own my shit?
If I would enter it’d need some more specifications for this would be blog. Text based, gallerys and so on – I build stuff for the function it’s supposed to be used, just doing strut work isn’t my cup of boiling hot java anyway.

This is awesome! Now, I charge twice your prize for building custom themes for my clients so the award isn’t very interesting to me. But it was a damn cheap way to get attention, and I like that.
