Threadwatch: Yet another Sellout
It seems like everyone is selling these days. Nick Wilson the former owner of Threadwatch has sold it to Aaron Wall.
Jim Boykin has an interview with Aaron Wall over here.
This comes just after Nick had a slight bit of anger problems with some of the Fine Fools staff. Huh sounds like Joyent/Textdrive all over again.
Honestly though we wish you luck Nick with Performancing. It’s become a favorite read of mine when I am on the toilet.

Mate you carry your laptop into the toilet? Guess that’s why you make such shitty posts!

Anger? Naaaah – somebody’s seein’ things that aren’t there.
That’ll give ya’ a shi**y outlook on life…
Anyone offering a sensitivity class?

Make sense that he’s dumpd TW - I guess if you want to start making some serious money with bloging you better treat your readers right – ie: tone down on the bitterness. TW was a good little indie “look at me I can swear” site but that’s all it is.
Personally, I have little time for Nick – like many others I think his tone of posting (know-all, putting people down)is quite poor, even though there’s some good stuff at performancing he really drags the team down.
Maybe he should head on over to ProBlogger and go though the archives ther and learn how to respect the reader.

I think you people are not judging Nick right. The guy is very knowledgeable and helpful too. Few people might criticize he don`t reply mails, but can you help an inbox which gets loaded with mails every minute.
Anyone can gain a lot from his posts, and it was proved by the enormous success of Threadwatch.

I have to admit, I’m far more comfortable on my chair at my desk, than on the toilet. In fact, if you find yourself using your laptop in the loo a lot, you may want to look to invest in a new desk-chair for using your desktop.

Nadini – it’s not very hard to make TW a success – simply gather a bunch of uber-know alls around you, write like everything to you is disdainful and beneath you, add a liberal dose of naughty words and snicker away and then giggle at how you’re offending everyone.
This might work for the extreme indie, tech-snobby crowd, but in the real world it won’t fly – hence the need to rid himself of TW to become a respectable internet citizen if he wants to make any serious money with perfromancing.
And saying all that, I actually find performancing to be quite rich in content regardless of what I think of the guy.

Being a responsible internet citizen is overated.

I hear ya, cowboy – but I guess if you want to become a eight-figure blog landlord then I guess you gotta play the game – I wonder which blog network will go to IPO first … if that ever happens then we’ll be talking about Web 3.0 sooner rather later.
