The Truth About Terrorism

Before you read this, you should know that I could care less about politics. I don’t lean left or right; they are all crooks. And even if they’re not, the system is crooked. So don’t waste your time trying to read between the lines for some political agenda.

Perhaps I am too forgiving, but I don’t see the latest thwarted terror attack as a catastrophic failure. I understand that I might be singing a different tune if the the poor-excuse-of-human-being with the loaded underwear blew up a member of my family, but aren’t these lapses to be expected? After all, we are a free society littered with nutbags.

Do you expect filet mignon at McDonalds?

No.

And you shouldn’t expect government agencies to cooperate with one another. Their egos are too big.

And you shouldn’t expect a name like Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to always be spelled correctly.

And you shouldn’t expect a terror “Watch list” cloaked in secrecy to be effective.

And you shouldn’t expect to retain the civil liberties you had pre-9/11.

And you shouldn’t expect a TSA agent earning $30k a year to be attentive every second of every shift.

And you shouldn’t expect the captured terrorists to plead guilty. (Why would they when they can further drain our economy with a lengthy court proceeding).

And you shouldn’t expect people to stop wanting to blow us up.

And you shouldn’t expect the media to stop the drum beating.

So bring on the full-body scanners, stop pointing a million fingers, and be careful when you fly. At the first sign of trouble, TACKLE. I know I will.

  1. Great article with excellent perspectives. BUT, we also shouldn’t expect that Islamic fanatics, terrorists and related scum won’t continue to try and kill us. AND, we also shouldn’t expect that political correctness won’t aid and abet these thugs. PLUS, that all pseudo libs won’t, cica 20 years from now, continue to blame Bush.
